EUROPEAN SOUNDART AWARD

Sponsors of the award are the Culture Radio WDR 3, the Stiftung Hören and the European Soundart Association in cooperation with the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl.

The jury will invite three contestants out of those selected for the exhibition to visit Marl to develop a new concept for a sound art piece for a to be selected space.

One of these concepts will be selected by the jury for realisation. The award-winner will receive € 7,000 in prize money for realisation of the work. Its remaining in the collection of the museum will be pursued.

10 works will be selected for the exhibition in the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl and will be presented together with the projects selected for the Marl Video Art Award 2016.

— Works submitted (DVD or USB flash drive) must have been produced and completed after 1 January 2014.
Each artist may submit only one work per competition.

— By their submission, the artists agree to consideration of their work for presentation in the group exhibition to the Marl Media Art Awards, where works from both competitions will be displayed together.

— Artists will be given an opportunity to declare their preferred mode of presentation of the work submitted. However, the final form of presentation in the exhibition is subject to the decision of the curators.

— All contestants will be informed about the selection of their work for the exhibition per e-mail at the end of August 2016.
Information about participation can not be provided prior to this date. Award-winners will be announced at the awards ceremony.

— The exhibition opening and the awards ceremony of the Marl Media Art Awards 2016 will take place on 23 October 2016 at the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl.

Video Art Award

The Marl Video Art Award is organised and presented by the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl.

The jury consists of international art critics, artists and curators.

A total of € 5,000 in prize money has been provided for acquisition of the piece for the permanent collection of the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl. In exceptional case, the jury can split the prize.

20 works will be selected for the exhibiton in the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl and will be presented together with the projects selected for the EUROPEAN SOUNDART AWARD 2016.
